Gaddenskolan in Sweden is another school that give knowledge posters to each student. It can put focus on knowledge with the unique skill overview. Each student get access to the full skillsandlessons platform to boost their learning. It is great to build motivation from within, when students see the big picture of all the fantastic knowledge, and can then drill down into the plan of each week. The algorithm will learn what each student need, and present a nice scrollable flow with content that can boost learning. ????
BERGSJÖSKOLAN USING SKILLS AND LESSONS
Bergsjöskolan in Sweden is now giving knowledge posters to each student. The purpose is to give an overview of the most central skills and content. An advantage is that the poster is possible to get in both Swedish, English, Arabic and many other languages. With students from many different countries it can be a good tool.
Teacher training have been conducted, in the way to use the poster, how to scan the qr-codes with a mobile phone, to get direct to the right place on the webpage. For example in math grade 6 find the 10 most central content or skills. And immediately see great short video lessons explaining that concept.

YOUR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
More students and adults get their own knowledge management system (KMS) where they store how much skills they have gained. In Finland and Sweden there are 17 subjects, and we have made it easy for anyone to get 100% of the top 10 skills in all subjects.
Think about what a nice feeling it would be. You feel totally in control. You know the basics, the most important stuff. And then everything else would be bonus. It will be much easier when you know the basics.
In total Skills And Lessons have 450 skills and currently over 630 lessons. But don't be overwhelmed, for you grade you start with one subject and then there is only 10 skills. That is the beauty. We have had the teachers get together and select the 10 most important skills. And write them in a way so everyone involved can understand them clearly. Join the journey towards the most skilled person in the room.
WE LOVE OUR TEACHERS
Our community of teachers have done an excellent job so far. Some think it is great to get new lesson ideas, but also to share knowledge, get recognized and maybe help in getting the next dream job.

OUR STORY
SkillsAndLessons has been developing in a unique cooperation between Finland, Sweden and the USA since 2020 with the goal of creating an individualised knowledge platform. The curriculum has been categorized from middle school to high school. Teachers from Europe and USA participate in the construction of the platform. For all subjects, they have together selected the 10 most important skills per subject. Lessons are suggested and then the users vote so that the best is seen at the top.
The background was that the founder's daughter was hit on a ski slope and suffered a concussion. Been in the hospital and away from school. The parents asked the school for checklists of the most important areas she missed, but got the answer that you have to be in the classroom to keep up.
Magnus Willner then got the idea to create a grassroot site where teachers together help to structure the knowledge. From the experience of having created the “Swedish Association for Requirement Engineers” each Skill was formulated briefly and with concrete examples.
At some Stanford Professional Studies courses, a global core team was founded with Eugene Shteyn and Makaela Andersson from the USA, Juhani Katajamäki from Finland, Ilse Bracke from Belgium and Tanya van den Berg from South Africa. From that we expanded to 15 core teachers from even more countries.
The great merit of SkillsAndLessons is probably that so many different people around the world get involved in this way. There are more such projects around our world. For example, the Educate Me Foundation, which is run to help African children to study.
The future looks exciting with the use of machine learning to individualize your knowledge flow, like the Facebook flow. The algorithm can show the most interesting / engaging skills for you. Since a large part of the population spends 5.5 hours per day on their mobile phone according to CMR/Vivo, it would be interesting to see how much time can be spent on knowledge if the format being made as easily accessible as Facebook, TikTok, Youtube and SnapChat.
